We have designed this event into four hour blocks to you will play six matches in your division in one of the three, four hour blocks so you will not be hanging around all day to complete your division.
Rules
Tournament Format Overview The tournament is structured to ensure fairness and competitiveness, grouping participants by skill (using DUPR ratings) and age (minimum 70 years old or turning 70 within the tournament year). This approach aims to create a rewarding experience for all players. Group Allocation • Players are grouped according to their DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) level, so matches are between participants of similar ability. Each group consist of six matches played at 20 minute intervals group will be concluded in a four hour time slot. Entry Requirements • All participants must be at least 70 years old or celebrating their 70th birthday in the same calendar year as the tournament. Match Format • Each group match is a single game played to 11 points. • The winner is the first player or team to reach 11 points—there’s no requirement to win by more than one point (“win by 1”). • The winning team receives 3 points, and the losing team receives 1 point. Medal Awards: The three highest-scoring pairs will receive medals: • Gold: Awarded to the pair with the highest total points. • Silver: Awarded to the pair with the second highest total points. • Bronze: Awarded to the pair with the third highest total points. • Tiebreaker: • In the event that two or more pairs are tied on points, the tie will be resolved by applying the points difference (the total points scored minus the total points conceded across all matches).The pair with the greater points difference will be ranked higher.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
No Refunds after 15 days prior to tournament start date all refunds are minus the Swish Sports Fee currentley 5 USD which on current conversion rates equals £4 Late Arrival & Forfeits • Any player who arrives late or does not show will forfeit their match(es). • A stand-in player may be used to keep the event running, but if that player does not meet eligibility requirements, all scores for that pair will be recorded as 11–0 losses. • The tournament director decisions are final.
