Format: Set Partner Round Robin, Set Partner Pool Play + Single Elimination Bracket
Price: $60.00 / Player (must register and pay as a team)
Description
Registration extended one more day but only for open slots. NO MORE SLOTS WILL BE ADDED. Once the last few are filled- that is it.
You may sign up for both gender and mixed events AT YOUR OWN RISK. They will be scheduled out separately but any significant delays (ie weather) may prevent you from being able to participate in both.
Women's Group B will play a RR for seeding and medal bracket placement. After the RR- The top teams will play for group B medal bracket and the rest will compete for the Group C medal.
1. Combine Ratings: Add your rating and your partner’s rating together.
- Example: If your rating is 3.65 and your partner’s rating is 3.3, your combined rating is 6.95.
2. Determine Bracket: Based on the total rating:
- If the combined rating is under 7, you register for the DUPR 7 bracket.
- If the combined rating is 7 or higher, you would register for a higher bracket, depending on the total rating.
3. No Rating Scenario: If you do not have a rating when you register:
- Please register for the bracket that best fits your current team skill level and contact the tournament director if you have any questions
4. DUPR 6 = Avg rating between 2.0-3.0.
DUPR 6.5 = Avg rating between 2.75-3.75.
DUPR 7 = Avg rating between 3.0-4.0.
DUPR 7.5 = Avg rating between 3.25-4.25.
DUPR 8 = Avg rating between 3.5-4.5.
DUPR 8.5 = Avg rating between 3.75-4.75.
DUPR 9 = Avg rating between 4.0-5.0.
DUPR 9.5 = Avg rating between 4.25-5.25.
DUPR 10 = Avg rating between 4.5-5.75.
Rules
1. Tournament Details:
Scoring Format: We'll utilize Standard scoring unless delays or pace of play dictates a change to rally.
Minimum Games: Each team will be scheduled for the equivalent of at least 5 games (4 if playing to 15).
Score Tracking: Pickleball Charleston will record All game scores in DUPR.
Based on Ratings: Teams are placed into pools based on their combined team rating (your rating + your partner’s rating).
Event Combining: Depending on the number of teams:
Divisions may be combined based on skill level or age to ensure a better playing experience. Therefore, you may be moved from your original division. The overall goal is to have all teams in a division be within a half a point (team rating) of each other. This will ensure competitive play.
2. Bracket Formation:
Initial Setup: Teams will first compete in a Round Robin format.
Skill Level Adjustments: Skill levels might be mixed during the Round Robin. After this phase, teams will be split into two separate brackets based on their Round Robin standings.
Separate Brackets: Each bracket will have its own winners and medalists.
3. Bracket Format:
The specific format for each bracket will be determined based on the number of teams and will be provided a week before the event.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor event. If any unforeseen circumstance occurs PBC will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when an unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.

Tournament Director Notes:
The Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust any aspect of the tournament to ensure it runs smoothly. This could include scheduling changes, rule clarifications, or adjustments due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Start Times:
All Mens Brackets Start at 8 am.
Women's:
Group B=10:30
6.0= 11am
6.0 (50+)= 11 am
All Mixed 1:30pm
Cancellation/Refund Policy
No refunds within 2 weeks of the event. Refunds are provided before 2 weeks, registration minus $10 (admin fee). Swish's technology fee is nonrefundable.
Inclement Weather Policy:
The event will be held outdoors, so if weather or unforeseen circumstances arise, Pickleball Charleston (PBC) will make every effort to continue play.
If brackets are interrupted, decisions will be made case by case to determine whether the bracket can be finished or if winners can be declared based on the progress at the time of interruption.
