Description

Pickle for a Cause Foundation 2026 Winter Classic Pickleball Tournament will benefit Make-a-Wish Foundation. It will be held at Fair Expo Pickleball on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Help us reach our goal of raising 10K to grant a wish for child with a critical illness! Your support through registering as a player and/or sponsoring brings us one step closer to granting their wish.

***This registration page is for 4.5 + Divisions only. These divisions will be moneyball only (not DUPR recorded, however, DUPR verified to avoid sandbagging). CASH PRIZES for top 3 teams in each division with payouts valued at 60% of the total player fees in each division. If you want to register for Under 4.5 Divisions, please go to a separate registration page at tinyurl.com/wish26. Those divisions will also have CASH PRIZES for top 3 teams in each division with payouts valued at 50% of the total player fees in each division and will also be DUPR verified and scores reported. See attached schedule of potential payouts based on number of teams registered per division.

*** Cost: $80 per player To register, you will need to know your partner's full name, email address, and DUPR ID. If you or your partner do not yet have a DUPR ID, you will need to first create an account on the DUPR site. Each division has a strict combined DUPR cap (except Open Divisions). Please see Rules section for more info. ***Waiver:
 To complete your registration, you must complete a digital Participant Waiver of Liability at tinyurl.com/Wish26Waiver. Participants will not be allowed to compete without a signed waiver.

*** Schedule: All brackets will begin at 9am. Check-In/Warm-up at least 30 min prior to your start time.***

Additional Information: This event will host several sponsors, vendors, food trucks, raffles, goodie bag giveaways, and more. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged. Paddles for a Purpose Drive/Raffle: Donate your used paddle(s) that you are no longer using to our Paddles for a Purpose Drive. We are also collecting packs of new pickleballs and portable nets. Help us with our initiative to provide pickleball equipment to schools, youth centers, and other organizations within our community. Each item donated will earn you 3 FREE raffle entries for your chance to win some amazing prizes, including new paddles, merch, pickleball lessons, and free tournament entries.

Rules

NO SANDBAGGING:
 The tournament will be organized and managed using the Swish Tournaments app. SCORES WILL NOT BE RECORDED IN DUPR, however, DUPR IDs are still required to verify levels at the time of registration to avoid sandbagging. Higher level players may not enter lower level brackets, but, lower level players may enter higher level brackets if they feel it is appropriate for them to do so.
 Registrations are being monitored and all player DUPR ratings will be verified at THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. If your DUPR goes up between registration and the event, that is acceptable.

If you have multiple accounts, we will use the highest to confirm or deny registration.

 *DUPR scores are based on the team average: Open Divisions (5.0+): No cap 4.5 - 4.99 Divisions: Combined DUPR must not exceed 10 4.0 - 4.49 Divisions: Combined DUPR must not exceed 9 3.5 - 3.99 Divisions: Combined DUPR must not exceed 8 GAME RULES: Games will be played on 14 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts. Game balls used: Franklin X balls.

 Pool Play:
 1. Each pool play game is to 11 points, win by 1. 2. 4-5 game minimum in each pool, depending on total teams per division Playoffs: 1. Playoff seeds will be determined by the number of wins/losses, then points scored/ points against, then head to head record-through the round robin. 2. The top 4 teams from round robin/pool play will enter the playoff. If a division is split into two pools per bracket, then it will be the top 2 teams of each pool going to the final 4 playoff. 3. Teams 1 and 4 play each other, while teams 2 and 3 play. Winners play for gold/silver and losers play for bronze. 4. Playoff games are single elimination, one game to 11, win by 2.

 USA Pickleball approved paddles only Tournament Rights Reserved:
 Bracket start times, divisions, number of total games played, and total length of play are subject to change and will be determined after the final registration deadline. That said, we will NOT merge brackets without your consent. We will let you know approximately one week in advance about the final schedule.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Registration closes on January 20th. Refunds (minus a $5 Swish tech fee and 3% processing fee) will be issued only for cancellations received by January 10th. Inclement Weather:
 This is an outdoor tournament. If inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, the tournament will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If cancellation is required due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, the tournament will be rescheduled.
