All events are Co-Ed, meaning boys and girls compete together. Doubles and 4-Player teams can be the same gender or mixed gender of any combination (example a team can have 3 boys and 1 girl OR 4 girls OR 2 boys 2 girls, or any other combination).

Gold Medalists of each Advanced Division (12U, 14U, 18U) will receive complimentary entry fees to the NJP Championships at the end of the year!

Registration
Registration Fee includes entry into ALL events- evaluations/social, singles, doubles and 4 player team event. All players will also receive an event t-shirt, swag bag, snacks and LOTS of pickleball play!

What if I don’t want to play an event?
During registration DO NOT select the event you wish to abstain from. You will NOT be included in that event and entry at a later date if you change your mind is NOT guaranteed.

Do I have to attend the Evaluation session?
The clinic and evaluation session is an integral part of the success of National Junior Pickleball. This session helps us verify the skill level of each player and verify you should be playing in the skill level you have selected at registration. Please make every effort to attend.

Will There Be Players My Level?
Simply… YES! Whether you’re a regular, high-level tournament player or a novice who has never played competitively, we’ll have an appropriate bracket for you! Instructors will evaluate players onsite and create pool-play brackets based on age & skill to ensure a positive, competitive, experience for all.

No partner? No problem!
Players can sign up for the tournament with or without a doubles partner or team. Players needing partners will have opportunities to meet and play with others onsite and notify the tournament director once a mutual partnership/team has been formed. Partnerships must be formed by 7pm the day prior to the event. If, by the deadline, there are players without partners/team, we will make every effort to connect every player with a partner/team.

Age Restrictions
This tournament is for Juniors ONLY aged 8-18. Players may participate after they turn 8 and until they turn 19. Example: If you turn 19 on December 31, you can play the whole year prior. If you turn 8 on December 31, you need to wait until the following year to play.

Players will play in the age division of their age on the FIRST DAY (Thursday) of the tournament. Example: If you turn 13 on June 1, you will play 12U Jan-May and 14U Jun-Dec

What skill level should I choose when registering?
All players should select the skill level based on the descriptions below. However, each player will be evaluated during the Eval session prior to the start of the tournament to ensure correct placement (no sandbagging!). Please choose the level that best describes your experience.

Beginner – Familiar with the rules of pickleball and side out scoring. Has played recreationally with friends and family. Can reliably hit the ball over the net and into the court.

Intermediate – Experience in local league and/or event play. Has the ability to hit basic shots (dink, drop, drive, serve, overhead) on a consistent basis.

Advanced – Extensive competitive tournament experience. Can execute all skills with consistency and has advanced strategy knowledge.

Doubles & 4 Player Team Division Assignments
Players will be assigned to the HIGHEST age and skill division of the partnership. Teams will be assigned a pool of similarly competitive teams. Exact divisions and pools will be determined prior to team competition.
