Description
The 1st Annual March Mad MoneyBall Tournament is geared to reward top place finishers with cash prizes or credit at the Pickleball Space. Our event will be well organized to maximize play time and reduce wait time. This format will be Round Robin into a Single Elimination Bracket style of competition. This non-sanctioned event will have scores loaded into DUPR and we will provide Franklin X40 balls. Please see rules and policies below.
$40 per Bracket
Men’s/Women’s play on Saturday-March 2, 2024 (Start Times TBD)
Mixed play on Sunday-March 3, 2024 (Start Times TBD)
Top cash prizes vary by the amount of players in bracket. Minimum of 4 teams per bracket in order to win cash prize.
Rules
All players and visitors must have or create an account with The Pickleball Space through the Court Reserve App, to sign off on Liability Waiver. Also, all players must have a DUPR account to verify bracket by skillset. Please be respectful of the venue's court rules and etiquette.
Round Robin: Play each team once, games to 15 win by 2, switch sides at 8 points.
Single Elimination: Top 2 Teams play for Gold, best of 3, games to 11 win by 2, switch sides at game 2, if game 3 is played, switch sides at 6 points.
Seeds 3 & 4 play for Bronze, 1 game to 15 win by 2, switch at 8 points
4 Teams (play each twice, 6 games)
5 Teams (play each once, 4 games)
6 Teams (play each once, 5 games)
1-3 Teams will be combined with closest Skillset and, or Age group.
7 Teams (play each once, 6 games)
8 Teams (2 pools, each pool play each twice, 6 games)
9 Teams (2 pools, pool of 4 and pool of 5, play each once)
10 Teams (2 pools, pool of 5, play each once)
Cancellation/Refund Policy
3 day cancellation policy with written notice to Tournament Director (Feb 27 for Mar 2, Feb 28 for Mar 3). No refunds inside 3 days of event as a substitute for your spot is allowed.
