Description

How lucky are you feeling? Or maybe you don't need luck because you have all the skills... We shall see!

Bay Club members get $15 off. Please contact TD for discount code.

Ladies will draw a male partner's name out of a hat to kick things off, and each pair will compete in a round robin tournament. This is just for fun, so even though we will use DUPR to get people signed up to the proper divisions, no scores will be reported to DUPR. Also, we are using the honor system in terms of signing up for the right age division, but if someone’s age is called into question, the TD may ask to see ID to verify your age. You are free to sign up for a lower age division (e.g. if you're 50+ but want to compete with in the sub-50 divisions, that's okay).

Divisions of play offered: 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0, 4.0-4.5, 4.5+

Subject to change, here’s the tentative schedule for the tournament:
Saturday, March 15, 2pm - 6pm:
3.0-3.5 50+ yo
3.5-4.0 50+ yo
4.0-4.5 50+ yo

Sunday, March 16, 2pm-6pm:
3.0-3.5, under 50
3.5-4.0, under 50
4.0-4.5, under 50

Rules

Ladies in each division will be asked to draw a male partner’s name from a hat (or hat equivalent). Each pair that forms will then compete as a team in the division. First games will start as soon as we complete the draw at 2pm and get the teams created, so arrive a bit earlier if you want to warm up beforehand. # of games played and points that we play to will be determined by the number of teams formed. The intention is to do round robin play within each division.

To start a match, follow standard conventions to determine who gets to call serve or side. Some suggestions:

Toss a coin and have someone on the other team call it.

Hold up one or two fingers behind your back and have one of your opponents behind you to see while the other opponent calls the number in front of you.

Line calls are made by the team who is on the side that the ball lands on. If the two members of the team cannot agree on whether a ball was in/out, then the ball is considered in. If there is truly a disagreement over a line call, just replay the point.

One timeout is allowed per team per game. Each timeout should last no longer than 1 minute. As needed, medical timeouts can be taken.

Team seeding for play-offs will be determined by 1) matches won, 2) head to head, 3) point differential.

Matchups for each round and score-keeping will be done within the Swish app, so be sure to download the app to your phone and have that handy for the tournament!

Cancellation/Refund Policy

To receive a refund minus the $5 technology fee, cancellation must be received by the end of the day, 11:59pm local time, on March 10. After March 10, no refunds will be issued.
