Divisions of play offered: 2.5-3.0, 3.1-3.5, 3.6-4.0, 4.1-4.5
Age groups: Under 35, 35-49, 50+.
If your team consists of two women in different age brackets, you must sign up in the lower age bracket for your team. We are using the honor system for this, but if a team is suspected to be playing in the wrong bracket, the TD may ask to check ID and disqualify a team. These are DUPR rated matches. Please do not sign up for a division if you or your partner are more than .25 over in the max DUPR for the division. Tournament Director may move teams up or down in division in order to keep tournament play competitive.
Timing may change, but tentatively,
2.5-3.0 and 3.1-3.5 divisions will play on Saturday, 3/8/25.
3.6-4.0 and 4.1-4.5 divisions will play on Sunday, 3/9/25.
50+ divisions will have an 8:30am start.
35-49 divisions will have a 12:00pm start.
Under 35 divisions will have a 3:30pm start.
Rules
3 games guaranteed in pool play, with top teams in pool play advancing to play-offs. Play-offs and bronze medal matches will be a single game to 15, win by 2. The gold medal match will be best of 3, games to 11, win by 2.
There is a limit of 8 teams per division for the tournament. The number of teams may be adjusted depending on the total number of teams participating. First games will start promptly at the listed start times. Please try to arrive 30 minutes ahead of time to check-in and warm up. During the tournament, warm-ups will be limited to 2 minutes prior to game start.
To start a match, follow standard conventions to determine who gets to call serve or side. Teams switch sides at 6 points for games to 11 and at 8 points for games to 15. Some suggestions:
Toss a coin and have someone on the other team call it
Hold up one or two fingers behind your back and have one of your opponents behind you to see while the other opponent calls the number in front of you.
Line calls are made by the team who is on the side that the ball lands on. If the two members of the team cannot agree on whether a ball was in/out, then the ball is considered in. If there is truly a disagreement over a line call, just replay the point.
One timeout is allowed per team per game. Each timeout should last no longer than 1 minute. As needed, medical timeouts can be taken.
Team seeding for play-offs will be determined by 1) matches won, 2) head to head, 3) point differential.
Matchups for each round and score-keeping will be done within the Swish app, so be sure to download the app to your phone and have that handy for the tournament!
Cancellation/Refund Policy
