Description
The Hong Kong Pickleball League (HKPL) is dedicated to building an inclusive pickleball community by connecting players through competitive and social team play, elevating skills, and enhancing the sport's visibility in Hong Kong. Our mission is to foster collaboration among local clubs and cultivate lasting friendships, making Hong Kong a premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts.
FORMAT OF PLAY
Each team can have a maximum of 3 men and 3 ladies for each match Each Match will Consist of 4 games:
- 1 Women’s Doubles, 1 Men’s Doubles, 2 Mixed Doubles. For mixed doubles players can only
participate in one mixed doubles game per match.
- Sets are played to 11 with regular scoring, with a team needing to win by 2 points, at 13 all the
next point wins the game, however the point has to be won on their serve.
- 1 point will be awarded for each game won. If there is a tie of 2-2, then a team singles match will
take place with rally scoring and played to 21 points. The team must win by 1 point and win on
their serve.
Team-Singles Format:
- Rally-point singles matches are where 2 male and 2 female team members from the team
participates by playing 4 points each before rotating with another team member.
- Each team will nominate their 4 members, has to consist of 2 men and 2 women. Only players
that has played in any of the doubles matches, may play in the singles.
- In the event of injury, a player may take a 10-minute injury time-out.
- If the player is unable to continue with the game, the team will forfeit that game.
- The following sets may be played by the rest of the players registered for that match.
In the event of a walkover or no show for any reason, 4 points will be given to the team awarded the walkover.
Rules
CODE OF CONDUCT OF LEAGUE
Unless otherwise stated, the League will be conducted according to the USAP Rules, and Rules and Regulations of the Hong Kong Pickleball League (HKPL).

All League competition shall be in accordance with the HKPL.
The HKPL Committee shall be responsible for:
- Registration of players and teams
- Grading of teams
- Establishing League schedules of play
- The arbitration of disputes between teams
- The management of funds
The Committee may, at its discretion, vary or add to any aspect of the Rules/Regulations and match scheduling on a temporary or permanent basis. Any such decisions will be communicated to all Team Captains. Changes will not suit every team or individual. However, all decisions will be made in good faith and respected. All Committee decisions will be final.
All written communication to the Committee must come solely from team Captains/Co-Captains. Written communications must be addressed to the relevant teams Division Representative, Secretary and Chairperson. The Committee at its discretion, is able to determine the outcome of any matter and may impose sanctions including, but not limited to, suspension or permanent suspension of players, team Captain/s and/or teams, forfeitures of sets or matches. Three separate incidents/matters made against the same team or play in a yearly period may result in suspension or permanent suspension of team captain/s and/or players.
Disciplinary decisions made by the HKPL Committee are final and no appeal is permitted. HKPL supports an environment that is free from threats, harassment, bullying behaviour of any type.
Mobile phones, activity trackers, smart watches and any other electronic devices must be silent at all times during play. All guests must comply with all the rules of the home club they are playing in. Please be mindful that each club may have different rules for different sections of the club.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
In the event of cancellations, there will be no refunds.
