Description
Event Format & Divisions
This event features two formats: 3v3 Team Play and Mixed Doubles. Players may register for one or both events.
Registration Fees
- $60 – First event
- $40 – Second event
3v3 Men’s/Women’s Team Play
Team Setup
- Teams consist of 3 players.
- Women’s Division: No men permitted.
- Men’s Division: Teams may include up to 3 women.
Ratings & Divisions
Team Play Includes
- Round Robin play
- Bracket Play
- One POD winner crowned per POD
Each team is guaranteed at least 3 matches (6 games per player), with additional games for teams advancing.
Determining Your Division
Add all three DUPR ratings together.
Example: 3.5+3.75+4.25=11.5
→ Register for DUPR 12
If your team does not have DUPR ratings or has limited match history, select the division that best fits your skill level and contact the Tournament Director.
Match Format
- Minimum 3 matches per team
- Each match includes 3 games
- Each player plays 2 games per match
- Team captain sets the lineup
Scoring & Advancement
- Minimum 6 games per player
- Teams advancing to playoffs will play additional games
- Winning 2 of 3 games wins the match
Mixed Doubles
Team Setup
- One male + one female partner.
Ratings
Add both players’ ratings to determine division.
Example: Player A (3.65) + Player B (3.3) = 6.95 → Register for DUPR 7
If you do not have a DUPR rating or have limited match history, contact the Tournament Director.
How to Register
- Combine Ratings with your partner.
- Choose Your Division:
- DUPR 7 → Avg. 3.0–4.0
- DUPR 7.5 → Avg. 3.25–4.25
- DUPR 8 → Avg. 3.5–4.5
- DUPR 8.5 → Avg. 3.75–4.75
If you do not have ratings, choose the division that best reflects your skill level and contact the Tournament Director if needed.
Rules
Scoring Format
- Standard scoring
- Games to 11, win by 2
Minimum Games Guaranteed
- 3v3: Minimum 6 games
- Mixed Doubles: Minimum 5 games
Score Tracking
Pickleball Charleston will record all scores in DUPR.

- Net Type: Permanent
- Ball Used: Gearbox
- Courts Used: 11 courts
Division Combining
Depending on registration numbers:
- Divisions may be combined to ensure competitive play
- Teams may be moved from their selected division
- Goal: Keep teams within ½ point (Doubles) ¾ point (Team) of each other whenever possible
Bracket Formation
- All teams begin with Round Robin play
- Each bracket crowns its own winners
- Final bracket formats released the week of the event
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Inclement Weather / Unforeseen Circumstances
This is an outdoor event. PBC will make every reasonable effort to complete scheduled matches.
If a bracket is in progress when an issue occurs, PBC will determine whether:
- The bracket can be completed, or
- Winners will be determined based on completed matches
Refund Policy
- No refunds within 2 weeks of the event
- Refunds requested earlier than 2 weeks will receive:
- Registration fee minus $10 administrative fee
