Description
The Dr. Jo Hewell Legacy Pickleball Tournament honors the legacy of Dr. Joyce Hewell. It is a celebration of resilience, unity and love. The tournament will be held January 24 & 25, 2026, at Epiphany Pickleball facility in Mount Dora, Florida. All skill levels are welcome! Get ready to serve, dink and party!

Entry Fee: $45 per player plus bracket and processing fees. Includes a minimum of 3 matches, organized brackets and live scoring through the SWISH app. Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places. One T-shirt per player.
IMPORTANT!! - The tournament will be organized and managed using the Swish Tournaments app. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE SWISH APP ON YOUR PHONE PRIOR TO THE EVENT. Â Swish will be used for Live court assignments, Real-time scoring, Real-time standings, Playoff brackets, Match alerts, Division updates.

Waiver
Registration confirms that each player has read and agrees to all the terms of the Tournament’s Code of Conduct, Waiver and Epiphany Pickleball Club Rules. Minors must provide a parent/guardian signature before competing.
Schedule
Tournament play begins at 8am. Start times may vary due to total registrations, withdrawals, number of courts available. Final schedule will be emailed approximately one week prior to the event. Bracket start times, divisions, number of total games played, and total length of play are subject to change and will be determined after the final registration deadline.
Check-In: 30 minutes prior to your start time.

Rules
All players should self-rate based on USA Pickleball (USAP) skill-level descriptions: (https://USApickleball.org). Scores will not be recorded in DUPR.
GAME RULES
Games will be played on 6 outdoor, dedicated pickleball courts. Game balls, Franklin X-40, will be provided. Only USAP-approved paddles are allowed.

Pool Play (Round Robin)
Each team plays one game to 11 points, win by 1, against every other team in their pool.
If there are 4 teams in their pool, then each team is guaranteed to play 3 matches. Tournament director reserves the right to adjust the total number of matches in a pool with fewer teams or unexpected withdrawals.
Playoffs
Playoff games are single elimination, one game to 11 points, win by 2.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Registration closes on January 20. Refunds (minus bracket and processing fees) will be issued only for cancellations received by January 15.
Inclement Weather: This is an outdoor tournament. If inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, the tournament will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid-play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs, the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If cancellation is required due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, the tournament will be rescheduled.
