Description
Welcome to the Second Annual Cateechee Classic 2024 Tournament at Cateechee Ranch in Hartwell, GA. This tournament is in memory of Charly and Kelly Schell. The tournament will be held at the Cateechee Pickleball Complex with 6 beautiful courts and an additional 6 courts five minutes from Cateechee Ranch if needed. Hartwell is located in Northeast Georgia on beautiful Lake Hartwell about 45 miles northeast of Athens, GA. Cateechee Ranch has everything right on site…a beautiful clubhouse with a restaurant and bar and men’s and women’s locker rooms. Each player will receive a player’s bag. There will be free water, snacks and fruit for players. Complimentary beer keg and full cash bar under the big tent at the courts. Hamburgers and hotdogs grilled on site. Great venue for spectators.
PLEASE NOTE: ONLY REGISTRATIONS COMPLETED BY APRIL 30TH ARE GUARANTEED A FREE T-SHIRT AS LEAD TIME IS NECESSARY FOR PRODUCTION.
REGISTRATION: Register soon as possible as the tournament fills up fast. Registration opens March 29th and closes May 31 , 2024.
Cost: $50 entry fee includes a gender doubles and a mixed doubles. Limited to one skill/age bracket per day. You may register and identify your partner, or request “Need partner”. NOTE: Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full.
Note: If you signed up to play Mixed doubles ONLY for last year’s tournament and did not get to play because of the cancellation on Sunday, you will be allowed to register for free in this year’s tournament. Contact [email protected] and he will register you.

Friday – June 7, 2024 Women’s Doubles
Saturday – June 8, 2024 Mixed Doubles
Sunday – June 9, 2024 Men’s Doubles

Rules
Competition each day may begin as early as 8:00 AM with some starting times as late as 3:00 PM. Specific start times will be emailed to players approximately one week prior to the competition.
Format is a Round Robin
Brackets of 3 Teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15 win by 1. No medal round
Brackets of 4 Teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15 win by 1. No medal round
Brackets of 5 Teams: Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15 win by 1. Medal round top 4 teams.
Brackets of 6 or more Teams: Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 11 win by 1. Medal round top 4 teams.
As registration proceeds, the tournament director reserves the option to combine brackets as needed. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards will be based on the combined bracket. Brackets will be combined by age if possible to avoid combining skills.
Age groups will be added/removed as dictated by registration with the intent to keep brackets at a maximum of 8 teams and a goal to provide at least 5 games for each team entered.
Skill levels are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5
Age groups are 18+, 50+, 60+ and 70+
A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player and the age group of the younger player. Age is calculated as of 4/31/2024.
RATINGS
Players with a UTPR or DUPR that is higher than the bracket registered for may be moved to the higher level at the discretion of the tournament director.
Matches are self-monitored. The director will be on site and available if requested.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Withdrawal deadline is May 17th, 2024 in order to receive a full refund (all refunds are subject to a $5.00 administration fee). No refunds will be issued for any reason after that date.
Inclement Weather Policy
This is an outdoor tournament. In the event of inclement weather, we will do what we can to provide a safe and playable surface. There are no refunds, credits or make up days if the tournament is impacted by weather. There is no indoor backup plan for this tournament.
