Events
Format: 3-person Team Format
Price: $60.00 / Player (must register and pay as a team)
Description
In this format, the men play first to display their skills to teammates and opponents. This helps set up the two mixed doubles matches to come. Once the men are done, the losing team declares their mixed lineup first and the winners respond.
Games are played to 15 points and sides are switched when one team reaches 8 points. All games are “win by one,” or whichever team earns 15 points first. This eliminates any chance of a team advancing by having more points or more games/matches played by way of tie breaks.
Fully stocked team lounges are available for registered teams for an additional fee. Our fresh new high quality tents offer privacy panels to protect you from too much sun or harsh elements. Our team lounges are supplied with three chairs, one table, one cooler with ice and drinks along with upgraded snacks.
These team lounges require payment up front at $40.00 per player for a total of $120.00 per lounge. Teams will have four prime spots closest to the courts for your enjoyment. Contact us at [email protected] for arrangements.
We are partnering with Ronnie Nemchock of Pickleball First. He will provide raffle prizes prior to tournament start. He will have products available to demo and sell at every event.
Our official ball is the Slapp Life Pickleball Slappshot 40.
Expect to have an hour of warm up time with pool play lasting about 3.5 hours or less to expand your weekend and social time.
We will offer open divisions, 35+ and gender-specific events in the coming year.
The tournament of champions will take place near Halloween time to steer clear of larger holidays. More information forthcoming.
Rules
Players age qualification: If a player has an upcoming birthday in the current year, said player can move up to the next age level. Players can play down to a younger age division, but players with more than one year difference cannot play up.
Team name required upon registration.
Skill qualification: players must not have a rating that exceeds three tenths above the baseline skill rating. Example: Players that register for our 9.0 division cannot exceed 3.3 for a team total of 9.9. This keeps the team below 10.0. This ensures that higher rated players cannot play in a lower ranked skill division.
We will not combine age or skill divisions. If pools do not fill up, then we prorate the cash payout divided by the teams that paid and entered. Teams are considered registered when they are paid in full. Only team captains will make payment for their team.
In order to register, players are required to create an account with DUPR. This will help to ensure that all players are registering in the correct age/skill division.
Coin Toss: Any agreed action will work as the coin toss. The winning team decides who serves and who receives. The team that loses the coin toss will select the side to start. Games are won when one team reaches 15 points. Teams switch sides at 8 points.
Time Out: Each team has a one-minute time out. One additional minute is available for both teams when switching sides.
Men's Doubles plays first to determine the upcoming mixed doubles matches. The team that wins their men's match responds to the losing team's mixed double's lineup.
In the case of a tie between teams at the conclusion of the round-robin, the following will be tallied to determine who moves on to the medal matches-Wins first, total points second, then head to head. If needed, point differential will also be considered.
Off the court, teammates cannot assist with line calls or signal to teammates on the court. One point will be deducted after being warned.
Each division with 10 teams will have two pools of 5 teams each. The top team from each pool advances to finals for 1st and 2nd. The second team in both pools will play for third. Cash is paid out as the award.
Let serves are good after clipping the net if they land in the designated quadrant. If any service touches the encompassing no volley zone lines, that serve is a fault.
Balls that catch the top of the net and drip down hitting a saggy net, or metal cross members will be replayed. Only the team on the side where the ball bounces makes the call. To reduce disagreements, players must consult with their partners on all calls.
Only USA Pickleball approved paddles are allowed for the tournaments. Only proper non marking shoes with laces are approved for tournament play.
